MARRAKESH TOUR TO FES VIA SAHARA DESERT 4 DAYS

A popular 4x4 private journey from Marrakech to Merzouga allows you to explore the Sahara desert. We go to the Unesco Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, then to Dades and Merzouga. The tour concludes in Fes.

DAY 1: MARRAKECH TO THE DADES VALLEY VIA AIT BENHADDOU KASABAH AND OURZAZATTE

We will have time to stop and enjoy impressive landscapes, and break for coffee and fresh-squeezed orange juice. We will spend the afternoon visiting World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou. This village of clustered Berber Kasbahs has been used as a backdrop for more than 20 films and was one of the most important fortress strongholds on the times of caravans in Morocco. And after the visit of the Kasabah ,you will drive to the Moroccan Hollywood of Ourzazate and by to see some movie sites and visit one the cinema studios or a museum also the Taourirt Kasbah then make it to the fertile oasis oasis of Skoura which is renowned for the cultivation of palm trees . you will stop to visit also the 17 th century Kasabah of Amerhidel which belonged once to the most powerful family responsible for protecting the village and its lands. And after that driver though the capital of roses , El Kela des Mgouna then continue driving through the valley of one thousand Kasabahs to the Dades Gorges .over night in a hotel in the Dades Gorges.

DAY 2: DADES GORGES TO MERZOUGA

The second day of your tripe will be for travelling to the desert.but on the way there are many natural  tourist attractions to see even to walk.the best one of them is the Todra Gorges.its like 64 km from the Dades valley.in it you will have time for a short hiking in the palm grove of Todra and see tourists climbing the Gorges.in the Gorges too you will have chance to see the nomads coming down to drink there cattels or bringing bottles to fell them for the animals or for themselves. After the Gorges you will continue via Tinjdad where you will have lunch than Erfoud which is known with fossils.here you can see one of the fossil museum to have an idea of what they make in this area. Than go to gradle of the Alwite dynsty.from here to Merzouga its just 35 km .over night in a Berber tent in the middle of the Sahara.

DAY 3- MERZOUGA VISIT AND DESERT CAMEL EXCURSION

In the morning you will start to discover what is around the desert.you will start in the Khamlia tribe to enjoy and dance with the black skin people originally from Sudan.and after that you will drive to the other side of the Sahara to see to nomads living there .you can spend some time with them and ask them many questions to deeply understand there life and how they live.the nomads here are very friendly and welcoming.than continue always in the desert till you make the whole tour for the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. During the lunch time,your driver guide will take you to a local restaurant to eat ‘ the Berber pizza’. Around 3 p.m. you will go back to your hotel for a break so as to be ready to the camel ride to the golden sand dunes.over night in a Berber tent .

DAY 4 - MERZOUGA TO FES

Early morning departure to enjoy Sun rise on Sahara Desert , camel ride back to the hotel where the 4x4 are parked. Breakfast and departure to Errachidia via Erfoud and the Ziz valley. We continue to Midelt to have lunch in the place. After lunch you will drive to Fes via cedar woods at Azrou and the mountain of the middle Atlas.
